Croeso - Welcome to the Sculpture Department at Carmarthen School of Art. We aim to celebrate this unique and invigorating course that is continuing to develop in West Wales. BA (Hons) Sculpture: Casting, Carving, Construction is the only course within the UK that offers a first year solely based on practical studies. The course offers traditional sculpture methods; modelling, moulding, steel construction, wood and stone carving as well as bronze, iron and aluminium casting.

What's been happening in the Sculpture department?
As always the department is always busy and full of exciting adventures, the casting in particular needs particular attention and organisation. The last couple of weeks have been working towards the bronze pours for second year exhibition work and for the first year medals. The most recent iron pour consisted of a two day run due to the extent of moulds and molten iron required.

Re-Launch of Carmarthen School of Art
Re-launch of the Carmarthen School of Art which was the original school of art located in Carmarthen in 1854. The school is now the oldest art school in Wales and continues to produce fantastic and invigorating art. The evening was special and memorable with both past and present staff and students present and dressed in Victorian fancy dress for the evening.
